Healing with Horses Retreat

Healing with Horses Retreat

An intimate journey back to the self while held with safety, attunement, and deep compassion
Dates: September 11 – 14, 2025
Location: Four Horses for Wholeness Ranch, Martinsdale, Montana

Discover the healing you’ve been longing for.
Mother Hunger® is the quiet ache from lost nurturance, protection, and guidance during childhood. This attachment injury has informed and caused challenges in so many of our relationships—and it can be healed.

This 4-day, 3-night retreat provides a safe, tender container where you can explore the roots of Mother Hunger® through:

  • Equine-guided Gestalt therapy with Hertha Lund, J.D.
  • Trauma Reprocessing (AF-EMDR) with Emily Davis (formerly Grimes) MSW, LCSW
  • Psycho-educational and supportive group process centered on relational healing
  • Nourishing food by private chef Kathy Lundberg
  • Private accommodations nestled in nature

Expect a supportive environment that values vulnerability, trust, and respect—so you can process your most difficult emotional wounds at your own pace, surrounded by empathic women on a similar path.

Equine-Guided Gestalt Therapy is a transformative, body-centered approach to healing that integrates:

  • The wisdom of the horse, a sentient being deeply attuned to human energy, emotion, and congruence.
  • Gestalt principles, which emphasize present-moment awareness, wholeness, and the processing of unfinished emotional experiences.

Participants are guided to engage with horses—not to ride them, but to be in relational presence with them—while a trained Gestalt practitioner supports the unfolding of insights, feelings, and self-discovery.

Facilitators

  • Emily Davis (formerly Grimes), MSW, LCSW
Clinical Director & Mother Hunger® Trained Facilitator
  • Hertha Lund, J.D.

Why Attend?

Release childhood survival mechanisms and beliefs

  • Reclaim your authentic voice & self-worth
  • Heal in community with heartfelt support and, learning, you are not alone!
  • Make space for grief, courage, and transformation

You will begin to understand that there is nothing wrong with you. Something happened to you.

Your pain, your patterns, your fears, your grief—they are not signs that you’re broken.

They are responses, adaptations and survival strategies.

What happened may have left you feeling unsafe, unseen, or unworthy.

But those are not truths about who you are.

They are wounds and wounds can heal.

You are not broken. You are becoming whole. 💕
